Jai Wolf, Bangladesh’s sensational indie and electronic music artist is bringing his signature sounds to Paradise Rock Club!
Jai Wolf (birth name Sajeeb Saha) was born in Bangladesh in 1992 but moved around quite a bit between Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New York before finally settling down in New York City at the age of 15. Despite the frequent moving, he was diligent in his study of music. He started to learn the violin when he was 5 and kept studying it till he finished high school. His hard work earned him a spot in the New York All State Orchestra but he felt that he couldn’t go any further with the violin. He wanted to try something new but faced some resistance from his parents initially. He says, “Originally my parents didn’t want me to listen to anything except for traditional Bengali and classical music – they were afraid I’d lose my roots. But by the time I was a teenager, they became accepting of American music, and I began my exploration.” He began experimenting in 2011 and it wasn’t long before he started to make a name for himself with the mashups and bootleg remixes he’d post online. In 2014 he started the Jai Wolf Project and soon he was getting offers to do official remixes for established artists such as Melanie Martinez, Dirty South, and many more.
