Royal Blood was formed in Brighton (England) and is duo consisting of Mike Kerr (vocals and bass) and Ben Thatcher (drums). They’re both from West Sussex and first met in 2005. They began their musical journey in a four piece band called Flavour Country and went on to form Royal Blood in 2013. Their musical style is best described as a blend of hard rock, blues rock, garage rock, stoner rock, and psychedelic rock. They’ve had a stellar career with 1 studio album, 1 extended play, 6 singles, and 5 B sides. Their album was a top 10 hit in the UK (#1), Ireland (#1), Australia (#3), New Zealand (#6), Switzerland (#6), and Canada (#9). It’s been certified Gold in Canada, Platinum in the UK, and it peaked at #17 on the US Billboard 200 chart. They’ve received many accolades including 2 NME Awards (for Best Live Band), a Brit Award (for Best British Group), a Kerrang! Award (for Best British Newcomer), a Q Award (Best Live Act), and a Global Metal Apocalypse Award (for Breakthrough Non-Metal band/artist).
