Brian Jonestown Massacre, California’s sensational psychedelic rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
The Brian Jonestown Massacre was formed in San Francisco in 1990 by singer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist, and music producer Anton Newcombe. Its name is a tribute to legendary Rolling Stones guitarist (Lewis Brian Hopkin Jones) and his role in fusing Eastern culture and music into Western rock and roll. Over the years, 40 members have passed through the band’s ranks but Anton has always been a constant member. The band currently consists of Anton (vocals and guitar), Joel Gion (tambourine), Ricky Maymi (guitar), Rob Campanella (keyboard, organ, and occasionally, guitar), Dan Allaire (drums), Collin Hegna (bass and guitar), and Ryan Van Kriedt (guitar). Their musical style is best described as a blend of psychedelic rock (a style of rock music - inspired or influenced by psychedelic culture - that attempts to replicate and enhance the mind altering experiences of psychedelic drugs, most notably LSD, by using novelty recording techniques, electronic instruments or effects), garage rock (a raw and energetic style of rock and roll deriving from the perception that groups were often made up of young amateurs who rehearsed in the family garage, although many were professional), neo psychedelia, and folk rock. They've had a stellar career with 17 studio albums.
Don’t miss your chance to see the artists whose distorted, fuzzy guitars and rock and roll attitude are rooted in the late '60s!
